Training Sessions
The Tri-Fit Triathlon Club is a club under which like-minded triathletes are able to compete as a group. It organises social events where members meet, however does not not offer any specific training programs or training activities for its members.
Tri-fit members are encouraged to organise training around their needs and lifestyle. For triathlon and single disciplines (swimming, riding and running), there are many good quality coaches and squads around Brisbane.
A few Tri-Fit members currently train under the coached programs listed below.
Triathlon Coaching
There are many different squads Brisbane-wide and you should choose one based on your budget and timetable. Many Tri-Fit members train with more than one squad. For further triathlon training and coaching options please refer to the Triathlon Queensland website www.triathlonqld.com.au
Note that if you join Triathlon Queensland their insurance policies may cover you even when training alone or in non-organised groups. It is recommended that you keep a training log as evidence of your training. Documents detailing this can be found at the Triathlon Queensland website.

Single Discipline
Cycling
Many bike shops will have orgnanised group rides that may be able to join at no cost and build up your k's. They may also be able to provide information on a cycle coach if that is what you are interested.
For those interested in doing cycle racing and finding out about cycle clubs the Bicycle Queensland website is a good resource and may provide the details you seek.
Note that if you join Triathlon Queensland their insurance policies may cover you even when training alone or with a group of friends. You are advised to keep a log of your training if you consider your commuting to work as a training.
Swimming
As swimming requires a specific venue it is important to find a location that is convenient to get to for training.
Most of the larger pools will have swim squads that anyone may join. Squads are good in that they provide some direction and sometimes the motivation needed to train. If you are self disciplined enough you may just need to find the time to do your own drills. Many pools will also offer personalised stroke correction, so don't be afraid to ask for a few one on one sessions if that is what you would like.
The Swimming Queensland is a good source of information and may provide you with some ideas on ways to improve your swim times by joining a swim club.
For ocean swim events, a good resource is Ocean Swim Australia. There you will find a calendar of events that you may want to participate in and get some 'race training' for the triathlons (which are often in the sea).
Running
There are numerous running clubs about that will enable you to improve your running splits. Or you just love to run and want find some like minded people.
The Cool Running Australia website is possibly the best resource for runners. You wil find running events for any distance as well as a club near you. There are currently 87 clubs listed for Queensland alone, along with contact details to assist in narrowing your search.
Two of the largest in the Brisbane area (where Tri-Fit members are either members of or have trained with) include
