TQ Annual Presentation NightPosted by Al Bieber, 22 April 2012, 9:37 AM Triathlon Queensland has scheduled their annual Awards/Presentation night. It is always a good wrap up to the season and there are some good guest speakers scheduled this year. A table of 10 will get us 2 free seats, so would reduce the entry to $56 each ($14 saving for TQ member, $24 savings for non TQ members). If you are planning on attending and joining the Tri-Fit table to save some $$$ please let me know by 27-Apr. Non Tri-Fit members are welcome, however priority will be given first to Tri-Fit members and guests. Calendar UpdatesPosted by Al Bieber, 1 April 2012, 9:42 AM March has come and gone with many of our club members participating in last weekend's Mooloolaba festival of events. Congratulations to everyone who was out there competing and thanks to the supporters for cheering us on! The Calendar page has been updated to include a few more events, including all the TQ Seminar Series (free to TQ members, $15 for non-members). These are held at the Sports House on Caxton St in Milton. The next one is Tuesday, (3rd April), with subject details in this Flyer. So whether you are looking for a run, swim, bike, triathlon, or duathlon, just visit our Calendar tab and start planning your next competition. If you know of any other events that may be of interest let me know and I'll add them in. |
TQ Offers short term MembershipPosted by Al Bieber, 11 February 2012, 5:40 PM Triathlon QLD has announced it has introduced the option to join Triathlon Australia at a 50% discount for the remainder of this season. The cost is $75 for Adults and $40 for Juniors. In conjunction with this offer, Tri-Fit has announced that anyone joining the club will have their membership expiry date set to 30-Jun-2013. Visit our Join page for details. This would be of interest to new triathletes who would then be covered by insurance while training and be eligible for entry discounts when racing. Also, anyone wishing to compete at the ITU World Championships must be a TA member before the selection races in order to earn points. 2012 UpdatePosted by Al Bieber, 2 January 2012, 12:57 PM Happy New Year and welcome to 2012! The Calendar has been updated with a number of triathlon and running events for the remainder of the season to help you plan for the next few months. While some events are 'full' (Mooloolaba, Bryon Bay), there are many other events you can still get into. If you are considering in competing at the 2012 World Championships in your Age Group (aged as at 31-Dec-2012), there is still time to earn selection points.
The Spain and France teams are unlikely to be full so the selection process will be a formality. The Auckland Olympic Distance (and to a lesser extent Sprint Distance) will be full in a number of Age Group categories so in order to represent Australia you will need plan your selection races accordingly. The upcoming selection races for the Olympic and Sprint Distance events are shown below.
