Club Information
The club is primarily a networking club, suitable for triathletes of all ages and abilities who wish to join Triathlon Queensland and are not associated with any other TQ Affiliated club.
As a TQ Affiliated club, those who join/renew their TQ membership will save $40 when specifying 'Tri-Fit' as their club on their TQ Membership Application.
Our club does not offer training. This makes us the ideal club for those who are going to join TQ and who train on their own, with a group of friends or parents, or in squads which are not TQ Affiliated. You are welcome to train with any club or at any venue that suits your personal situation.

Club History
In 1999 a group of triathletes based in St Lucia, training primarily at the University of Queensland, decided to create a social club under which they could compete and socialise. The club was named Extreme Triathlon Club (XTC) and affiliated with TQ. This permitted XTC members who then joined TQ to compete as TQ ‘club’ members and receive a discount for being a member of a TQ affiliated club.
In 2001 the club affiliated with UQ Sport and was renamed to Tri-Fit - University of Queensland Triathlon Club (UQTC). Club members were required to join UQ Sport, and were encourage to train at UQ Sport facilities.
In July 2006 club members voted to cease affiliation with UQ Sport and the name changed to Tri-Fit Triathlon Club. The primary purpose of the club returned to its original goal of simply networking and providing triathletes an opportunity to join a TQ affiliated club regardless of their training regime or where they lived in Queensland.
For the 2010-2011 season, it was decided to provide free memberships to Trystars (U16) who join TQ and indicate Tri-Fit as their registered club. This was done in order to encourage U16 to join TQ, since once they are TQ members they will be kept informed of opportunities for U16.
At the AGM held in June, 2010, a motion was made to discontinue posting club members results. Instead, club members are encouraged to supply a race report (with photos if possible), and this will be posted as a News item. Regarding membership fees, it was noted that members of TQ Affiliated clubs will receive $40 off their TQ membership in the upcoming season, and there are no 'Regional Residents' discount. Therefore 'independants' who are not members of an other Tri-Club would have a net saving of $15 if they joined Tri-Fit ($25) as then joined TQ and claim the $40 discount.
